About the Event
Gerry Biron
In a career spanning 50+ years, Gerry Biron has made mysterious, metaphorical drawings,
initially begun as a healing strategy through cancer treatment and, prior to that, exquisitely
sensitive portraits inspired by Native American themes in pencil and ink. “It’s important to know
that contemporary Native artists are not reviving or reintroducing an ancient art form; rather
they are part of the vital continuance of an unbroken tradition.”
Abigail Jones
A book artist, printer, binder, teacher, and collector, Abby Jones is obsessed with photographs,
etchings, and photogravures interacting with text to create a portable work of art when finely
bound. Abby is the proprietor of Morpheus Press, a bookbinding and letterpress studio
founded in 1997 and located in Gageville, Vermont. She has exhibited her work at venues such
as The Providence Athenaeum in Providence, Rhode Island, The Book Club of California,
the La Jolla Athenaeum, in La Jolla, California, Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois, and a
national touring bookbinding exhibit Calle “The Best of the Best.”
Jones’ beautiful blank journals, photo albums, and sketchbooks are available for sale in the
gallery!
